The ds had not online games for the first year. If that was so bad, why have more than 2 million games been played on it?

The February issue of EGM critiques Wii's virtually non-existent online play. Though I'm reserving final judgment until we see online multiplayer, I feel that online play isn't a priority for Nintendo. From the article (issue 212): "The Wii's unified friend code system initially seemed like an upgrade to the DS's daft online plan, but it's actually just more of the same nonsense. Once again, each game requires its own separate friend code list...so get ready to input lots of 14-digit codes. Seriously, designing your entire online strategy around preventing child predators simply isn't a good idea."

I don't think it's fair for people to comment on the state of Nintendo's online play service for the Wii when there's been no proper showcase of it yet other than on the DS.
hahaha what a moron!!!!!! i love stupid people. they keep me entertained.
Not only that, but as a father of 3 children (2, 4, and 7), with the 7 year old now interested in games, and playing Tetris online against people and such, I am *more* than happy to have a game system that prevents child predators. Especially after recent Xbox Live based kidnappings in the US (no, I'm not blaming Xbox Live for stupid teens, but it didn't help).

It takes thousands of nuts to hold a car together, but it takes only one to shatter it across the highway
Duct Tape is like the force. It has a light and dark side, and it holds the world together

Considering you don't even HAVE to have friend codes to play online...what are they talking about?
Look at Metroid Prime Hunters or Mario Kart DS, no absolute need of friend codes to play against people, it randomly matches you up with other people...
