Cool guide Tetris. I just use this:

It's pretty n00b friendly.![]()
As ive been asking about five gazillion times (with other users) is that many of our icons we had made were in theory supposedly were correct.
anyway when we flashed our xmb icon the damn black background was still there even when we copied the SAME color as everybody ELSE!! (wtf!), making the icon hideous, I plunged through a list of useless information on how to resolve this and i finally found the way out, and it wasnt hard to explain really....
(ONLY FOR PHOTOSHOP)
first to start off we gotta make a 64 by 64 picture, and colour the whole thing with a selected colour use black
the hexcode for it is easy, 000000
so you get a icon that looks like this
a no brainer, fill the icon in with black, now make a new layer
now on this layer, put your icon, make sure to get rid of the surronding background behind it
now onto getting that black background to... DISAPPEAR!
Now go to indexed color
after doing this do ok to everything
now you should have your icon there ready to go so save it as a .bmp and with 8 bit color
Now when you flash your icon the background of the damn icon (the blackness surronding the icon) will not be there anymore!
Thanks for reading my guide, also post comments or problems below
May you make some awsome icons now!
