I bought Yarudora Portable: Blood The Last Vampire last year for $14 (from play-asia). This is an interactive anime movie even though it's listed as an action adventure.

If you don't understand Japanese...don't buy it lol. There aren't any english subtitles either. I tried to like the game/movie, but not knowing what the hell is going on gets annoying after awhile.

Tama Run (Mercury Meltdown) is an exceptional value. Also, for non Japanese speakers, it doesn't get in the way of gameplay.

I'd start learning now if I were you. I am a learn-a-holic. lol. I try and learn as much as I can (and often end up with a big headache because I'm consantly working or reading up on something).

In the last year I've learnt basic Italian and Spanish, Japanese however is taking me bloody ages. Speaking it is the easy bit but trying to decypher what japenese people are saying in a movie or game I only get half the words.

and back on topic, nice finds there. Tama-run and Simple 2500 vol. 4 are both value games there.
