Valve’s Steam Workshop celebrated its first birthday this week, so what has the user-submitted content application accomplished in its first year?
Workshop started out with player’s creating custom items for Team Fortress 2, and has since grown to support different styles of content submission in a variety of games.
There are 16 shipped titles at current, with more on the way, and nearly 300,000 items including models, animations, maps, levels, scenarios, and entire games made in GameMaker Studio.
Steam users have racked up a total of 55m downloads during the year as well.
Valve concludes in its official blog post that the firm plans on continuing to expand on the growing program with more tools, more ways for content contributors and customers to communicate, and more games and content creators in general.
