Wireless Router problem. HELP!

When i scanned for an access point it found my router and it set up with no problem but when i test the connection an error message comes up:

'A connection error has occured. The access point was not detected'

The wireless router has found the PSP and detected its MAC address and I have added it as a device but why does it come up with this error message??? Please Help

are you using WEP?

When you mentioned you scanned, that is the first thing to be done, then add the WEP. if you use WEP.

I found that if I did not scan for the AP, then select that AP, the connection would not work.

Thanks mate but i've fixed it! i had set my router to be g band only, i then changed it to g & b and now it works fine.
