    Default Problems with 2.71 downgrader

I was able to downgrade my 2.0 with no problems, so I offered to help my friend down his 2.71. I grabbed the downgrader full ver, and I'm having trouble getting it to run.

It unpacks the files and copies them over to the PSP. However, when I choose "photos" from the menu, the memory card light flashes for about 20 seconds or so, then the light goes out. I have to reboot the PSP at this point because it's totally frozen. I have tried with the power plugged in or out, neither matter. I have formatted the memory card, and started the steps over, still - same thing. I have left it on this frozen screen for a long time in case there is something happening in the background, but no. I have also tried with eLoader installed, and without it.

I thought about upgrading him to 2.8 and trying that downgrader, but I'm reading all sorts of trouble with it. This 2.71 is supposed to be cleaner.

Can anyone give me some advice?

    Thanks

Have you tried formating the Mem stick.
    Then installing again.

The same thing just happened to me.
But I kept trying and it finally worked.
Umm... but I think my PSP bricked after the install. THe screen stays totally black.
