Consider this
If the description of future is, and i quote "a time advanced from the current period also reffered to as present" Then technically by travelling to the past you would not be able to travel into the future because you must be in the present to access the future thus leaving you stuck in that bygone era meaning that the theory of time travel is all but a hellish nightmare.
