its a cool mod but it wudnt giv u even half of the playing time dat psp's normal battery wud give u... ive done tests on a bunch of different mods that ive created maself( and some that ive found on the internet). ps's current draw is rly high( for most portable electronics anyway) and to use AAA batteries in it wud just giv u like 20+ minutes to do what u gotta do. This is the main reason why i try not to work with anything below AA b/c AAA die too quickly. Whenever i get enuf time, ill post my own homemade mod for a psp charger.

    YKB:
If the batteries were in parallel then you would have the equivalent of a 3000mAh official battery.

They may each supply 1000mAh, but only at 1.2v per cell compared to the original battery's 3.6v.

The 3 cells, each at 1.2 volts, are connected in series to give the needed 3.6v.

Amps x Volts = watts (actual energy use)

You may have 3 times the batteries, each with 1000mAh, but your also drawing 3 times the volts. Meaning 1 useful mAh of battery life to the psp takes 1mAh of life from each battery, not just 1 of them.

You end up with the battery life of a single 1000mAh (or so its rated) battery.

YKB: Yeah, i mentioned about the high voltage when using non-rechargeables (1.5v each Vs 1.2v for rechargeables) in my earlier post in the thread. Hopefully the psp can handle the extra voltage being supplied directly via the batteries. The charger supplies 5v, but I don't know how it is wired up inside the unit.

Okay....however, each of my 1000mah AAA batteries are 1.5v making it 4.5v in total or does that circuit board perhaps restrict that to 3.6v total?

Who makes GP Ultra brand batteries anyway? Those look like 100yen store batteries. HAHA...

    I use those...
