Best Downgrader for 2.71 PSP

I have downgraded a couple of 2.71's and it was really pesky to have to try it about 10 times and wait for that red screen to show up. I was just wondering if the 2.80 and 3.03 downgraders are like this or if they are more or less reliable. Anyone know? I am wondering because my friend has a 2.71 PSP that I will eventually need to downgrade and I don't really want to wait for the red screen. I watched my friend downgrade his TA-082 though and that didn't require the red screen so could I use the TA-082 downgrader on a non TA-082?

I used the 3.03 downgrade the other day and it was pretty much idiot-proof.

Yer true the best downgrader is the 3.03.

I have downgraded 4 PSPs on that DGer and all worked fine.

I always thought the first downgrader by Mathletioeh (misspelled) was great. That one was pretty easy.
