Firmware is what system software you rare runnig, both Sony and Dark_aleX bring out firmware, even tho DA firmware is miles better.
Homebrew is any program for the PSP that has not been created by Sony, anything from games to applications is homebrew
3.03 is the last Sony firmware that can be downgraded at the moment, you would want to do this for all sorts of reasons, one being upgrading then to DAs latest firmware to play playstation games on your PSP.
If your PSP is 3.10 or 3.11, too bad you will have to wait until people come up with a way of downgrading that as well. Shouldn't be too long tho.
chill dude take a breather and let us know your firmware
