Default PSX on PSP w/ official sony emu

I've been tryin get psx games on my psp to no avail. here's what i did
1)i created a bin/img file of my psx game with magic iso
2)i converted it to eboot with no compression with zinga popstation 3.00
    3) it didn't provide me a keys.bin file, so i copied in the hotshots 2 one you get from auto popstation 4
    4)i created a directory
    "ms0(memory stick root):PSP/GAME/FROGGER"
5)i put the keys.bin and EBOOT.PBP file into the folder

now the problem i get is when i try to boot up the game from the game menu under memorystick the xmb goes away and i'm left with the theme just sitting there... the waves still move, but i can't get out and have to do a hard shut down (hold the on/off switch for about 20 seconds).

has anyone else encountered this, and how do i fix it?
