I'm impressed. First the RetroSonic engine + demo, now this! Very nice
Michael McCann is working on a 2D scrolling (Up/Down and Left/Right) bump and run platform game written for the Dreamcast. Magic Mario will play as a standard Mario game, but with some newer concepts adapted into the bump and run style of play.
The project only started in 5th of Jan but he aims for it to be complete for April 20, 2007
As of the 5th of Feb the Status was:
There is a playable build, although not all sprites have been written. Sound is fully functional, maps load and are interpreted correctly by sprites. Sprites spawn their processes correctly and die correctly. The player control code can be streamlined a bit, but works well.
There have been no releases yet.

Its really good to see that the homebrew community is still thriving. however I'll pass on this one, and wait for the full release.
