Data released by the Education Database Online has revealed that one in two parents join Facebook in order to keep track of their kids.
Parents were found to be concerned by today's increasingly digital world, which makes it harder to keep track of their children's activity.
43 per cent of parents admitted to checking their kid's profile on a daily basis, paying most attention to photos and status updates.
The number of parents on the site is only increasing, with 72 per cent of US mothers admitting to having an active Facebook account, compared to the 50 per cent just two years ago.
