Default I Really Need Help With 1.53!

I ran the 1.53 update, it made recovery mode, then there was an error. i went to recovery mode and selected start xmb, then i went to system software and it said 1.0...

What should I do? Should I just run a 1.50 update?

heres a pic of recovery mode

I was just wondering, what advantages has this new firmware got over 3.XX OE firmware?

It seems like a pointless release to me.
