    If you don't need all the features of Photoshop, you can buy a limited edition version (I don't know if they still make them though). They are around $100.

    my mistake... i think i got confused with some other software... i went looking and adobes website is a real pain for finding out the basic terms of licence

    however, it is still a very good deal, and i will be in the time frame to buy edu CS3 during my degree [ not sure i will though...] and if i can get an order of CS4 during my last months i will try...

    "Your photosho" wont be any different to everyone elses, thats how it works. It is a bit hard to get used after using all the $#@!ty MS products that all work the same.

    But you have to do ctrl+d to deselect (there are other ways) and try using the "move" tool.
