MapThis with Official Sony GPS

Does anyone have the official PSP GPS unit and use it with MapThis? How well does it function? How easy is it? Is there an easy quick way to get a big map on your PSP? Any other tips or advice? I want to get the official Sony GPS because I can't solder so modifying a different GPS unit would be out of the question and having it go through the USB port on top seems like the best looking way to have it plus the Sony unit is the cheapest. I can find it for about $65 on ebay after shipping. Also, does anyone know when it is going to come out in America? Should I wait for the American release? I am asking all these questions because I think I am going to get my license soon (after I finish my stupid classes) and I think it would be nice to have GPS by my side in case I need to go somewhere I've never been. I have used MapThis and it is awesome. I can't wait to try it out with a GPS unit though.
