Default TV and DVD Recorder in PSP Format (Memory Stick media) and in NDS Play-Yan format

    News from Lik Sang

RockRidgeSound has announced that it will release a special recorder hooking directly to the TV or DVD player, and recording your shows and movies straight to Memory Stick, in the right format for playback on your PSP (MP4). Additionally, the recorder is also compatible with the new Play-Yan from Nintendo and Mediastage, which has just been launched for Nintendo DS and GBA SP (using Smart Card media). The VRX02 (that's the model name) is used in a similar way as a VHS recorder for tapes, without the hassle that downloading and converting files can be. Just grab what you want to watch from the selected channel, that's it.

The quality is expected to be in the high standards (this recorder will NOT be a gadget), as RockRidgeSound happens not to be a classical video game peripherals company. It is known in Japan for manufacturing and distributing DVD players and other high-end electronics related to sound and images. A real-life presentation of the device is scheduled for May 18th at some business show in Japan. The price point in Japan has been set to 15000 Yen, which is about the cost of a Nintendo DS on the island. Good stuff is not cheap, the wise man says. Lik Sang is currently collecting preorders for 179.90 US$, with a release date estimate in June or July. We will pass you more detailed information when we receive it.

If you wanted innovation for the PSP, you got it right there. This peripheral is actually quite surprising and I can't help but stating that such products can only happen in Japan... and in Lik Sang import customers' living rooms.
