Aw yeah. Ain't no party like a Square-Enix party, 'cause Square-Enix parties don't stop capitalizing on long-running and commercially proven intellectual property like the Final Fantasy series of games. That well known anthem will be proven May 12th and 13th when the Japanese publisher of beloved role-playing games (and the much maligned SaGa series) holds the Square-Enix Party 2007 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy.

On hand will be the bakers dozen of Final Fantasy games shown on the ad above (posted by German game site GameFront), plus, we assume, other IP, some big announcements and unknown surprises. In the above ad that's running in newspapers, it says in Japanese: "And then, a Final Fantasy that nobody knows will appear." Does that mean yet another new Final Fantasy will be announced? Or just that Square-Enix likes the vague hype? Got us.

There's plenty of time to book flights, but don't go holding your breath for that Vagrant Story II announcement. I have a sneaking suspicion you'll just be disappointed.
