Is LUA dangerous to the psp?

Forgve me if i'm wrong but i believe i've heard horror stories about LUA games bricking the psp. Does it even flash the firmware?.

I ask this because i'm interested in getting into it pretty soon but just want to know how safe it really is.

I think just some days ago someone found out how it is possible to write something to the flash, but unless you're writing this piece of code in your app the worst thing that could happen is that the psp shuts down and you have to restart...

yes, if you use it more than 3 hours a day on your psp, it will spontaneously combust!

yeah that happened to me once, ill never be the same nor will my psp
