3.30 OE should not come out.

Its not worth the work for what you get.

I'm a bit surprised at the "haha, eat that Sony" attitude. They're mainly releasing new _features_ for us, I don't think they put any hard work into the encryption/protection part.

I say thank you Sony for the new firmware - and thank you Alex for the customizations you've provided us with.

I have to strongly disagree with you. The fact that Dark_AleX didn't bother with 3.11 OE is understandable and using the 3.11 POPS via popsloader is great.

There are already games that are starting to require 3.10 firmware so it won't be long before 3.11 or 3.30 will be needed for commercial games. And there are some really great games set to be released in the near future. You can bet SONY will make sure their latest "downgrade proof" firmwares are implemented. So having a 3.30 OE will be a great way to continue being one (or two) steps ahead of SONY.

Triv1um_xxx, maybe you don't utilize or care for the POPS PSX EMU but to me and many others, having the latest version of POPS is worth it alone to have a 3.30 OE.

The Video resolution changes and Starbucks (T-Mobile) FREE Hotspot access are a couple more very nice features.

I think 3.30 is a pretty nice firmware upgrade. For those who think there is some war raging, that's really not the case as some may have initially thought. Some high level SONY execs have publicly voiced admiration for a lot of what the homebrew scene has accomplished. Mainstream media is also looking at the PSP's homebrew scene (mainly its talented coders/developers) as a vital part of the PSP's future.

Thank you and congratulations team C+D for this great work.

Whether you want to admit it or not there has been a bit of a slowdown in the momentum and excitement of the PSP homebrew scene lately as shown by the majority of the news being about sales charts and commercial games. So this is the sort of thing we need to boost the momentum once more on the homebrew side of things.

After all he's done already, no one should expect anything more from Dark_AleX, however, I can say for myself that I sincerely hope that Dark_AleX will work on a 3.30 OE.

I know some people are extremely humble, but I don't think Dark_AleX can deny that he has seen enormous fame and recognition from his works. No matter who you are, you are going to feel at least some good about fame and recognition. I don't think he will want to quit just yet.

i forget who suggegsted this but maybe we should destroy the iso loader idea entirely so no one can rip umd's and if you want to play iso's play 3.10 forever then sony probably will start to commune with the "homebrew" scene? but just a suggestion.

Cool D_A's Popsloader plugin doesn't work with decrypted 3.30 Pops

Hey, everyone--the big question on everyone's mind is how to test out the 3.30 POPs emulation. It looks like you can't use the 3.30 popsman.prx and pops.prx files with the old popsloader, unless Dark_Alex releases a new version.

    Here's what I did:
I decrypted the new DATA.PSR and isolated the popsman.prx and pops.prx files.

I tried copying the popsman.prx and the pops.prx to the popsloader directory on my memory stick, and named them "popsman330.prx" and "pops330.prx" (hey, it might work!). However, when trying to boot a PSX game using the R-select-menu, "3.30" doesn't show up as a POPs version to choose. It appears to be hard-coded, not dynamically generated.

Ok, so then I tried renaming the pops to take the place of 3.11. I moved out my actual 3.11 popsman.prx and pops.prx, and renamed the 3.30 popsman and pops to "popsman311.prx" and "pops311.prx."

I booted up the game using the R-select-menu, and, hey, the "3.11" emulator option (now actually the 3.30 popsman and pops) was still there. However, when I tried to use it, the PSP blackscreened and crashed. No damage to the system obviously, but it didn't work either.

I opened up the popsloader.prx main plugin file from the root directory in Notepad, and it looks like there're hard-coded behaviors linked to the plugins, so I don't think we can use the decrypted 3.30 pops until we get an update from Dark_Alex.

    THAT IS ALL.
