Default What happens if your PSP gets 'brick'ed ???!!!

I just got a PSP and have decided on GBA emulation.

Friend of mine told me I'd have to downgrade for that to happen..

But will it brick my PSP? If so, what can I do?
Is it worth it to downgrade (and would that make PSP vurnerable to viruses etc?)

    Thanks,
    Jetkon

A bricked PSP is one that turns on, but stays at a black screen.

You CAN'T get viruses. That's just bull$#@! spewed out of Sony's mouths.

Downgrading is safe (as long as you have all the right files in the right places). Also, after you do, you should upgrade to a custom firmware.
