    Default PSX Compression

Hi. I made ripped my ISOs for Chrono Cross, FFIX, and FFVII, but every single one of them doesn't fit on my memory stick!!! I have a 512mb which clocks in around 480 (sadly) and each of these games, after level 9 compression, comes in at about 500mb... Is there anything I can do other than buy a new memory stick?

Maybe you could go through the isos and rip out the stuff you don't need. Like maybe an opening movie or something.

use this tutorial and the software to reconvert your games to eboot it compresses them a lot too.

Well, see, I already know how to compress them. I know how to convert them to eboot format, I just want to know if there is any other way to compress them further, as they are currenly bout 20mb to large for my memory stick. Also, how would I go about ripping cinematics out of the ISO? Anyone know? Thanks!

You could use pbp unpacker to open eboot and remove un-needed fmv files and music which will shrink it further.

Cool. So I got the program, and I load up my Chrono Cross EBOOT, but I don't really know where to go from here.. I've got a few files on a list, like the icons I used for it, and a big one (the only big one) called data.psar. What do I do from here to remove cinematics and stuff? And if I take them out, won't that harshly screw up the game..?

Ok try using magic iso or something similar to open the iso instead and take them out from there and then re-convert it to eboot, it should,nt affect the game.

OR you can always purchase (or steal) a larger memory stick... since realistically a 512 mb really isnt going to hold anything... lol

Level 9 compression is about as good as it's going to get. If it's not possible to get a bigger MSPD, the only solution is to convert games that come out smaller:

here's a short sample of result's i've gotten, rounded up slightly...
    Vagrant Story: 120 MB
Arc the Lad 1: 350 MB
    Threads of Fate: 250MB
    Kartia: 300 MB
