2.6 Psp

Hi everyone i just bought a new Psp from Best buy which came with 2.6 firmware well after reading this

and it says this : Your PSP CANNOT be a factory 2.50/2.60 PSP! It had to have been updated once before from a previous version or the downgrader will not work!

Well does this mean im pretty much screwed? or is there other ways to downgrade?

No, that must be an old article. There has been a downgrader released for these psps. You will need to upgrade to 2.71 first though.
Get the 2.71 update here
Get the downgrader here
Follow the readme and you should be fine.

Ah very nice thanks one more question though how do i know if my PSP is a TA-082/TA-086?

on the mother board it should say if its a TA-082 or a TA-086 i opened up mine and it showed me
