PSP web browser broken (???) need help

Hi all i have been to this forums for quite some time now...and the search option has always been a good friend for information, be it for solving problems or to answer simple questions

but this time i am clueless
my browser does not work anymore on my firmware 3.03oe then i updated to 3.10oe still no go
my last hope was the new 3.30oe but its still not working
whenever i open the open(or at least try) blue screen appears and is telling me: "Setting informtion is corrupted. Press O button to repair and restore default settings"

does anyone know about this issue???

Actually, its because the old registry format is no longer compatible, and it isn't converted like it would be if it was a Sony update.

but wasn't is a way to brick your psp in older oe firmwares when you attempted to restore default settings???

just curious....
