Flooding his email with nonsense like that in completely unnecessary, and would only be a bother to DAX. Please post your thanks right here on the message boards.

To send DAX a serious bug report, or something of that nature is one thing. But the last thing he needs is 30,000+ "Thanks man" Emails...

Maybe you should go out in the real world instead of quoting every little thing and spending an hour on one post about a guy who probably doesn't even care what you say.

I don't know how fast (or should I say slow?) you type, but the replies took me just a few minutes and not one hour.
And as I said, if the other person would not have cared, I think he wouldn't have written that large reply (what really might have taken some more time to type).

He is right, people try to find out compatability issues with the new firmware and its impossible when everyone just says "GOOD JOB DAX I LOVE YOU! I PUT YOU IN MY SIG AND I JUST PUT THE NEW FW ON MY PSP! EVERYONE BE PROUD OF ME I CAN COPY AND PASTE FILES WOOOOOHOOO!".

I never said he is wrong about that.

And you are wrong about letting people show their generosity. They DO NOT have to show it here. They can email him their personal thoughts. No one else cares that they thank DAX except for him, and there's no reason they need to flood the thread here. There's a 1 in a billion chances he'll even read your post for goodness sake. EMAIL HIM

As said by others before, I think that would be a bad solution, not just because it would be not very nice to flood his Inbox. Also I believe that developers like DaX who offer their work for free do it of course for fun and use it them self but also a little bit for acknowledgment on the Internet. I am sure that they at least sometimes enjoy browsing through threads like these in some forums randomly

I also think that (maybe with every release) a "Thank you Dark_AleX" thread would be a good and nice solution.

First of all, i never said that you said he was wrong. I was just pointing out facts.

Second, him getting an email account especially for fanmail is not a bad idea either. If he gets one, it's his choice whether or not he reads them, just as if it's his choice, using his time, whether or not he reads the posts on these forums.

The thing i don't get is why it's bad to send fanmail to a fanmail email address.

And finally, go to a random page and look at a random Thank You post. Now decide whether or not DAX is actually going to read that post. Nope, I guess not, I guess we really didn't need that post added to this thread.

That's what I mean. If DAX is too busy to get a new email address and look at his fanmail, how would he ever have the time to read through 20+ pages of posts, on 20+ different forums, for every one file he releases?

And btw, I type about 80-90 wpm on average.
