They are Japanese services.
PlayStation Spot are just some PSP hotspots in Japan (not sure about US) and Portable TV is a Japanese-only service where you watch some Japanese channels online. You can only access these icons if you put the fake region hack to Japan. To use custom top_menu.rcos make sure you set the fake region to America.

does anyone know if there is a compatability thread anywhere for the 3.30 and 3.40 pops emulators?

because until a new game comes out that requires firmware higher than 3.10 the only reason i would upgrade in for pops compatibiliy and no one seems to be discussing that anymore.

I don't think there's need for a POPS compatibility thread. It runs most games of the PlayStation perfectly. There are few of them that don't run 100%, and we know them.

Really? The problem I'm anticipating is for games that worked on 3.02 and nothing else. For example Mortal Kombat Trilogy only works for me with the 3.02 pops plugin. And some games just worked better on 3.02 than 3.03 and 3.10.

I guess maybe I should just upgrade and see what happens. I can always go back.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy works for me on 3.40-OE...

OH, forgot to mention, it's a PAL release. But I think it'll work for you too.

I don't ask for a complete Comp. list with a new topic either, some major titles like RE 2 and FF 8 don't work at all. Its certandly some info about one of those games that kayhan wanted.

I'm still on 3.10 oe a' and I wont upgrade until a major comp. fix before upgrading.

If I had FF VIII, I would try it now...
But I'll search for RE2, and I will inform you.

EDIT: Urrrrrrrrrrrghhhh can't find it!!
