Default Possible video converting on psp

Hey all, I don't know if this is new or not but i was downloading some mpg video files while on my psp and it changed the name from mpg to mp4 and they actually showed up in the video section but obviously the don't play. I have only done this with mpg video files to. I have no clue what this might be hinting at but i thought maybe video conversions right on your psp.

ps, i didn't know where to post this mods obviously move this cause i'm pretty sure it's in the wrong place.

EDIT:I also forgot to say this is on 3.40 oe-a.

It just means the PSP is seeing the file extension, but when it goes to play it the video is not encoded correctly so it does not play.

A file extension just tells the player what to do with the file, it doesn't change the fact the file is not encoded for the PSP.

^^Yep, that's the truth, it's like renaming a txt file and expecting your mp3 player to read it to you
