3.40 OE questions

Hi all, I just have some questions on the new firmware.
1. Is is safe to upgrade to it?
2. Can I update if I have ps1 games already on my memory stick? And will they be the same after the upgrade?
3. Which xmb themes work on 3.40 OE?

1. I went 3.03oe --> 1.50 --> 3.40oe.

but you can go from custom too.

2. yes

3. the ones that are advertised as 3.30oe themes work. Not sure how they work but yeah...

Thanks, I have just generated the DXAR file now and it said it was successful. Looks like i'm all set.
Question about pops though, how do you convert the saves? I have already backed up the save files so that's no problem.
