The smell isn't really that bad, you can only smell it when you sniff it when it's charging.
So if you can refrain from doing that, you'll be fine.
It does start to get a little warm after a few hours though.
I thought this was some kind of scam when i bought it, but i thought, hey, it's only $20, thats not a big loss anyway.
