The Wi-Fi USB Connector is a dedicated wireless access point that plugs into a USB port on your PC. It uses your PC to access your existing high-speed internet connection. These sorts of USB transceivers tend to have a very limited range (and tend not to be good at penetrating walls). If you're already dropping $40 on this, why not buy a real wifi access point (and I'm sure you can find some cheaper) that won't limit you to 5 systems and likely is more reliable?

This is another product that's marketed "for the Wii" but really has nothing Wii-specific about it (like the Wii SD cards).
