PSPE the PSP Homebrew Emulator Guide

HOW do you get the MAME emulator running on a 1.5 PSP?
It's the only one I have trouble with.
I'de give my left eye to get the damn thing running...

why r u guys talking about psp emulators in a pspe thread?

to all noobs: this isn't an emulator for the psp, it is an exe file that you can run on your pc and emulate eboot.pbp files through.

when i try to run an eboot this stderr file pops up and says
libpng error: Not a PNG file
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

I get this same error, too:

libpng error: Not a PNG file

Edit--------------------------
This worked once: PSPE must be a directory directly under C:, not as a sub-directory. (D: may work also?!)

2nd Edit--------------------
It worked until I put a file under SOFT1, then it died.
Removing the file let it work again. I suspect this is a version issue with the PBP file I'm using.
