Default best combination of CPU speed, LOC location, FW and mapthis version

I finally got this to work yesterday, with 3.40 OE-A, mapthis 0.497, CPU speed at 111 and LOC "0", while I was driving in the car, max signal that I got was 4 bars but very shortwhile, got a fix in around 2mins.
pls share your best combinations on how to get a quick fix thx

With PSP-290 you must not be travelling very fast while trying to fix. I could never get a fix when travelling at 70-100km/hr, however it would gather a list of satellites. As soon as I slowed down or stopped, it would fix almost immediately.

    Using:

    111Mhz
    0.497
    Loc - doesn't really matter
    2.71 & 3.03 PRX/USB
    Fixes usually under 2 minutes

Slow fixing is mostly due to interference and atmospheric conditions. Clouds and mist can make it harder too - rainy days etc... It's all to do with how much matter there is between yourself and the satellites. Moist air and clouds = a lot of water particles suspended and 'in the way' of your receiver and the satellite.

    TA-079 motherboard
    3.10 OE-A (not A')
    PSP-290
    Map This! ver. 0499
    Green Screen PRX's

I clock it at 111Mhz until it fixes and then raise it to 222Mhz. I mainly speed up the clock to use my MP3 plugin although it will also run at 111. MapThis! does run a lot smoother (Map This! more responsive to PSP buttons) at the faster speed.

I've gotten 4 to 5 SAT's in about one and a half minutes locking on to at least 3 of them testing this version. By three minutes I usually have about 7 to eleven SAT's and am locked on to six to ten of them. Just as with ver. 0.4.97, my signal has been great. In my car I usually have all six bars green.

Occasionally, it takes a little longer to fix. I usually get SAT fix before moving, although I have done it while moving as well.
