Default Popstation Fix List (RE2, PE2, Etc)

Because I think it needs to be made, I figured I'd list what needs what fix to work. It's pretty straight forward, but some games (like Parasite Eve 2) need specific edits and popsloader (if you're running anything beyond 3.10OE).

Also, this list was sort of burried here in another thread, and I think it should be more accessable. Anyway, here we go.

This is a list of GAME ID's that use specific patches built into pops.prx, apparently. It's unknown at this time if this means we're going to see several released on the Playstation site to DL, but at any rate here they are:

Now, this list is here merely for people to experiment with, see if one game id will fix an issue with a certain game, etc. There are two ways of doing this:

    1) Change the Game ID of the game itself. You do this through any EBOOT creating program or HEX Editor (if you know what you're doing). PSX2PSPv1.2 is my fav for this.

    2) Edit the pops.prx of whatever version you're going to use for that game (via popsloader) and replace a certain Game ID with the Game ID of the game you wish to use.

Now, it's not simply 'pick one and hope for the best' or 'any jap version of the Game ID will work'...it seems that these Game ID's above are the 'magic numbers' currently. You have to basically use them, to get it to work. And even then, certain codes won't work.

    Confirmed Fixes:

    Chrono Cross -
The RE2 Game ID fix works and removes the freeze in the Komodo battle, but there are known sound issues. Change the Game ID to SLPS01222

    Dino Crisis 2 -
Another game that uses the Jap. RE2 Game ID. Change the Game ID (In any EBOOT creating program) to SLPS01222. Should clear up any issues people have been experiencing.

    Driver -
Replace the Game ID with SCUS94240. No flickering in the menu, no freeze after retry a "Driving game" and no in-game crashes.

    Final Fantasy 8 -
Apparently, the same Game ID for RE2 Jap. version works to fix this one as well (not 100% confirmed however). Simply change the Game ID of FF8 to SLPS01222. It will no longer freeze where it has been for everyone, but people have noticed slowdowns, and I think it freezes in a different place now.

    Parasite Eve 2 -
This one is a bit tricky. What you need to have is popsloader (by Dark_Alex) loaded onto your PSP (I can confirm it works with 3.40OE-A). Now, pick with the 310pops.prx or the 3.11pops.prx (it works with either) and open it in a HEX Editor. (I prefer xvi32). Now, search for the Game ID SLPS00025 and replace it with SLUS01042. Save this, replace the one in your PSP (in the plugins folder), and Enjoy!

    Resident Evil 2 -
Apparently, the issue is only with the Leon Disc, so simply change the GAME ID (using whatever program you wish) of the EBOOT from the original to the Japanese one: SLPS01222. However, I haven't seen anyone confirm if the Claire disc has the same issue, but I imagine the same fix can work.

    Resident Evil 3: Nemesis -
Change the game ID from the original SLUS00923 to SLPS02300 as well as the Save ID to SLPS02300. Unknown if it makes a difference with the Save ID, but better safe than sorry. This should get you past the ferry parts crash.

To keep this list up to date, please PM me, or reply to this thread. I'll make the necessary changes to confirmed fixes.

    Special Note:
Before I forget, this couldn't have been possible without Catire, Dany23 (Of Maxconsole forums), Apoklepz, mareko_pl, O-bake or x3sphere. And ESPECIALLY Dark_Alex

This is kind of an unrelated question but dosn't have enough importance to make its own thread about, but If I am running say FinalFantasyTactics Eboot.pbp How do I go about saving my game since it attempts to check memory cards. I played for a while and hit save, then when reloaded there was no saved data.

Didn't know this was an issue with tactics...are you sure you completed a save? And that you didn't change the Game ID/Save ID after saving?

I got to the first save point in the game and hit save then continued to play for a few minutes. After quitting the game and reloading without changing anything there were no save files unless there is a special way I have to load em since I dont actually have memory cards slot 1 and 2. Im new to using PS1 on PSP so this probably is an easy fix im overlooking.

Edit: Now that I look in my saved game data utility on the PSP there are save files for both tactics and ff7 which I played on here too, now I just have to figure out how to load them.

should be able to load them like you would any other game, through the in-game 'Load' or 'Continue' menus at the main menu...unless you mean you went there and they weren't there.

Also, if you're running 3.40 OE-A, it changes the save files to a different format that can't be read in previous firmwares (so, let's say you went to 3.40, then used popsloader to go back to 3.03 for better compatibility) it won't read the save file. And then it won't write over the newer save file (at least I don't think so)
