i have no ideapm bytrix about it, i would aim for a polygon count of under 1000, but i've been counting it in triangles
i work on one side of the object first, then copy the other side.
i think it wasn't counting the polys, just the triangles, until i learnt how to fuse the two halves together, which is really good. it also gets rid of that weird shade problem on the faces of my charactors.
