recover menu keeps resetting

i wanted use a custom XMB on my 3.40oe firmware and since i'm running a jap PSP, i figured that changing the region would work and true enough it does.
problem is, every time i coldboot or exit a game/app, all the settings in my recovery menu would revert back to a certain set.
more importantly, the psp region setting would revert to 'disabled', causing the psp to hang due to the custom XMB.

does anybody else have the same problem as i do? or does anybody know how to solve this? please help! thanks

I didn't have this exact problem, but I had trouble with my recovery menu freezing. You could try using the flash 1 formatter.

The only downside with this is that it erases all yoiur settings. It may fix your problem though.
