need some advise

Hi guys, My two sons both have the ds and psp problem is that they lose games ect ect so I have made backups of about 10 ds games and 50 gba games , I want to get a card that will allow them to play their games without losing the real ones , so I started looking around , if I get the ds-x treme I believe I can play just ds roms, am I correct or will it allow me to do homebrew too?
If I want them to be able to play their gba roms [all legally backed up] what should I look at.
I own a gp2x myself and love it as I play all my old mame games.

I think you're better off keeping your original carts. A plastic bag is much cheaper than a flashcart.
