Update Installations 'system'-folder overwrite or delete first?

I would like to ask, when I am installing new updates, I should just overwrite the folder 'system' with the new version OR if I should delete the old forder first and than copy the new folder to /MapWiever.

- because if I overwrite, some old files will remain and some files will be new. If I delete the old folder first, I have only the new files and the size of the folder is a half...

- Just make a back-up of the old map on your PC;
- delete the old map from your MS
- put in the new map
- see if it works.

[b]If that doesnt work:
- delete the new map of your MS
- copy the old map from your PC to your MS
- and then try if it works if you overwrite the folder that's on your MS.
