Default Not Fixing On Any Satellites

My PSP is a 3.10oea, I have the PSP-290 gps and I'm using the PSP-290 GPS TEST eboot to test it. It loads up ok and comes to the GPS State = 3 and then everything else is just = 0 and it finds 1 satellite, but doesn't fix on it, how do I do that?

No I don't have a TA-082 mobo and yes my WiFi switch is off.

Does it fix automatically when the signal is good enough or do I have to do something?

I'm in the Bronx, NY and it finds like 1-3 satellites, but doesn't fix on them. I'm using the 207 and 303 prx files, is that why or does it not matter? Or am I just not getting a good enough signal? I'll try and go to a more open area see if I can get a better signal.

And in MapThis I go into GPS mode and I get no bars.

i believe this is only a signal strength problem. make sure you are in an open area outdoors with no tall buildings around, play around with the cpu speed and the position on the GPS unit and look at other threads to optimize signal strength.

    @LiquidSmoke
When I startup, I get into the GPS settings and set CPU to 111Mhz (press down on arrow keys) and almost immediately I see 5-7 sats and get locked on and fixed within 15 seconds.
*Takes about 2 minutes in my house
*If CPU stays on 333Mhz, it seems to take upto 7 minutes to lock/fix

Once locked and fixed I push CPU to 333 Mhz so Hybrid Maps move smoothly

i have also moded a metal case for the psp this way

so it blocks most of the EMP noise from the psp

with this, i fix within 30 seconds at 333Mhz

    this is the result

I can't see what you did to the case on these pictures. Can you describe it at least a bit ? You modded the original PSP case or is this extra casing on top of the original one ?

It still would be nice to know what _exact_ case did the OP use to make this shield.

ok thanks, i was hoping it was just a signal problem and nothing wrong with the gps or the way i installed it.

i'll try it again, and yeah i was trying at 111mhz

also if im in map this and go into gps mode, does it automatically find and fix onto satellites? like it starts out with the empty red bars, do those automatically get filled to green or do i have to do something to get it to scan for satellites.
