From the picture it looks more like a dvi to vga adapter (hdmi doesn't need screws to connect). If it is a dvi monitor the adapter would have a connector to send sound else were because a hdmi cable caries both sound and video as apposed to both DVI and VGA only carrying video. there are actually two types of dvi. DVI-D which is a true digital signal and DVI-A which is an analog signal. This uses a DVI-D connection. And if you look at the bottom of the link it tells you that you need a hdmi to dvi cable to use their product.

This is essentially 'just' a HDCP stripper, and as such it's actually comparatively cheap. This will mainly be usefull to people who have a HDTV without HDCP (poor sods) and people who wish to hook up HDCP content to their existing computer monitors.

Useless.I can buy a HDMI to DVI converter from Best Buy for 20 bucks.It doesnt remove HDCP so whats the point?

this does not bypass the HDCP protection and i dont see whats so great about this.I can buy an HDMI to DVI converter at Circuit City for 30 bucks

It isn't a HDMI to DVI converter. That might be why it's not what you expect...

It converts HDMI to normal RGB, so any devices think they are connected to a HDMI TV.
