Your PS3 is the thing that gives off the signal not the WiFi.

You you need to be a wifi distance away from your PS3 to use remote play because its the PS3 that is sending it.

I dont mean that. I mean through access point. Is there any way. I can connect to the ps3 through internet but cannot turn it on or off.

If your in a hotel and your PS3 is at home you cannot connect to your PS3 from there via WiFi, nor can you turn it on and off.

Don't mind Triv1um; apparently he hasn't heard of the new 3.50 firmware that lets you do this.
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

    I don't think you can...
Your ps3 needs to be on while you access it from a remote location.

    Yes.

I dont think i understood the question.

I meant you cannot turn off your PS3 while out of range.
