Default I can't get any maps!!!

Ok, I have read the FAQ's, and this board, but I can not get any new maps.

Ever FAQ/TUT I look up refers to an older model of the Map Downloader then what i have...

I have Map This running fine, I can look around New York and the world....

    I have the file Gmdl21.zip

Within the gmdl21\Google Maps Download\bin\Debug I have the Google Maps Download.exe. It looks like this

    [IMG][/IMG]

No matter what i set the co-ordinates to, by scrolling/zooming the map or by entering them under "advanced", when i hit "download map" I will almost always get a "Zoom level probably unavailable", but sometims I get something about the map being 512, and needing to be 256.

I can find lots of tutorials for Map This referencing In7anes map downloader, but I can't find anything in depth on the map downloader itself...

Specifically, I am trying to get a map of Vancouver (Where I live), and Harbin, China (Where I am going to live).

Also, is it possible to write in my own points of interest, and can I have a GTA-Esque arrow pointing me to a POI I designate?

    Thanks guys!

Note: I am not an expert, or anywhere near it.

Try a newer version from http://www.in7ane.com/psp/

Not an expert either, but these are the files I used in my setup...not sure if reloading it will help, but I had a similiar problem with the "easy" in7ane map downloader.

I of course followed the instructions from the guide Outsider provided here, which you may have already done.

As for creating custom POI's, you can add them into your map(s) once you are viewing them on the PSP. To make a semi-custom POI when you create your map, I have thrown together a basic how to here.

    Hope this helps...

The program works fine, but now when I download the map, the file is completely different from the ones that came with Map This, and they do not load...

there are like a zillion buttons on the downloader so it will honestly take you a while to figure out. I know it sounds harsh, but the only person that can teach you to use the program is you. Trust me i was up all day messing with things to get my maps to work properly., and I basically used every tutourial and they didn't help me with anything. So the best advice I can give is to tamper with it as much as possible, and to look clearly at all of the options.

    good luck!

have you upgraded since putting up your screenshot, because the version you were running in your screenshot was very very old. you need to load the version that is posted above linked by ST240sx.
