Default psp-290 help GPS State: OFF

I just bought a psp-290 gps accessory for my psp off ebay. Came from Hong Kong. I have a ta-082 psp with firmware 3.03 OE-C. I installed MapThis! 4.99 beta and everything seems to work ok. I downloaded a map for my county to test it out and the map comes up fine. Although I can't get it to connect to any satelites. I've done a lot of reading through numerous forums and haven't really come out with a down-pat solution for my problem. I change cpu speed to 111, changed the initlocation to "2", and kept trying to enable gps mode in the map viewer. But everytime I go into gps info. everything is at 0 and I can't get a fix. No matter what it says "GPS STATE: OFF". Now I read about some fix for the ta-082's that has to do with idstorage but i've read in a couple different forums that the fix was only for untouched idstorages which when i downgraded i had to modify it. Thanks in advanced for the help, let me know if any other info needs to be provided.

    Firmware: 3.03 OE-C
    Motherboard: ta-082
    GPS: psp-290
    Software: MapThis! Ver. 4.99 Beta
Problem: "GPS State: Off"/ Can't get a fix or any satelite connection

The fix should only be applied on IdStorage that has been corrupted using an older downgrader. I had exactly the same problem, and the solution I posted here: http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/sho...t=61861&page=2

So if your IdStorage got changed, you have to fix it, so it goes back to how it was before downgrading.

yeah i just tried that it said my keys were already fixed. I did however fix an error that i created by not putting in the 290 eboot but now it freezes at the mapthis splash screen where it says loading usb accessory module. so still cant get my gps to work

    UPDATE:
Well I got it workin finally today i messed around with it. I deleted everything for mapthis and reinstalled it. I put it in the game303 folder with the 290 eboot and ran my psp in 3.03 kernel. Now for some reason i have 2 mapthis programs in my games section on my psp, ones like 200kb and the other one is like 30 megs (because of maps), i use the first one (30 meg one)...But guess what everything works! everything checks ok at splash screen and my first satelite connect i got like 10 fixes. Thanks for troubleshootin with me guys even after figurin it out for myself haha.

if your gps state is on, you should be able to find a satellite, go outside in an open area, and use the satellite tester program.... and can you find any? wait like 10 minutes and dont move the device... do you see any sats?

You are talking about generation directions using mapthis on PSP. Currently I don't see a way doing that on PSP. The only thing you can do is to plan ahead by generating the route using GMDL and then copy the route from your computer to the map folder of the memory stick. As someone has mentioned, if you want to be able to generate directions using mapthis on PSP, it is not going to happen unless there is a free and reasonable direction database available. So plan ahead, and save the routes to your psp before going out for a trip.
