    and they can, the 1.0 firmware is a weak enough to let someone run an eboot which could brick the psp.

    Sorry about this but i am a n00b to the PSP, how would i actually update my PSP, it is the Jap one at version 1.5 and was wondering how i do it. If it is something to do with having to be at a wireless access point well i cant update then cheers for any help

    I believe you can in fact do it via usb... but im not sure how.

    You can expect a 1.52 firmware release for the American PSP in the next couple of months. Hopefully, Sony will release a firmware upgrade with webbrowser or something that will make people upgrade.

    - Download JP1.52 file here
    - Place it in your Memory StickPSPGAMEUPDATE folder
    - Run it from your PSP Home menu

    The only time I would bother to upgrade was if it was for something decent such as a web browser.
