Newbie to the PSP "MASSIVE HELP NEEDED"

Hi, my names Garca.

and i just recently bought a PSP yesterday, im still learning the kinks and what not.

but i have several questions.

1. I have a Firmware 2.60 with a TA-082 motherboard model on it....is there any hope for me what so ever to upgrade any of the 3.XX OE's or even downgrade to 1.5?

2. I've heard of ways to Play your PSP on your computer screen via USB cord...with the Firmware version I have now is it possible?

3. Is there others ways to play Homebrew/Emulators on my PSP if the 1st question is not compatible with my situation?

I havent done anything what so ever to my psp...cuz im scared of bricking my PSP or harming it in anyway, so i just leave it alone and hope that someone comes thru.

, it is possible to downgrade, then upgrade to a better OE firmware,

2 = not sure if it works with 2.60, bt i know it works with 3.xx i think ^^,

3 = there is a second way if u dont want to downgrade. its called, HEN D, but i dont think there is for 2.60,

Use the 2.71 ta-082 downgrader.

Of course first you must upgrade to 2.71.

1.- yes you can downgrade it

2.-it does exist, yet its not that good if you have a usb 1.0

3.- yes you can, safest downgrader is the 2.80 downgrader.... upgrade to 2.80 and it will recognize the mother board..... full instructions on how to downgrade (requires GTA game)

Thanks for the replies and help. Much appreciated.

..I heard good things about the 2.71 method so i think imma go with that one.

..so after i downgrade to 1.50..thats the only time i can update it to 3.40 OE?

oh and 1 other thing. I got the Usb data connector, but would it be ok if you can provide a tutorial for me on how to upgrade to 2.71 please? ..Sorry if my hella noobishness and questions comes off annoying to some.

NM, i figured it out on how to upgrade to 2.71 and did.

but in that readme file you gave me parkermauney, it says:

"This is an application to downgrade a ta-082 unit running 2.71 firmware and HEN-D?"

whats HEN-D? and where can i get it before i downgrade to 1.5?

HEN-D stands for "Homebrew Enabler, Revision D". It patches your mobo so you can run homebrew for a short while. Find it here:

lol, thanks. I ment to tell you all i found an Easy TA-082 downgraders and waiting for my PSP to charge to 100%.....My PSP is just about charged so ill give you all an report if everything goes right.

now i just need one more favor.

3.40 OE-X:

which is better A, B, C, etc.....

and where can i get it with full tutorial instructions?
