ipod iPhone Poll Says 9% of Cell Users Want It

    via MP3 Newswire

Steve Jobs stated at the unveiling of the iPhone that their goal is to capture 1% of the market by the end of 2008. If the recent poll by M:Metrics is accurate then Apple's new phone will blow past that figure before this year is up.

According to the poll, which was released on Friday and surveyed 11,060 U.S. mobile subscribers, in the US 9% of cell phone users have strong interest in buying the iPhone. That figure was even stronger in the UK where 16% of 5,293 mobile subscribers said they had strong interest. "This data confirms that the iPhone has sparked the imaginations of consumers and is not merely a topic of conversation among insiders and technology enthusiasts," SVP M:Metrics Mark Donovan stated in the company press release.

I wouldn't be surprised if people are going to be excluded because chances are some of the companies like Verizon are going to put in lockouts. If the game system is the same as my V3M, then there's no way homebrew will work on it. I'm not trying to be negative, but that's the truth.

However, I'm sure people with companies like Alltel will be in luck since they don't put lockouts on phones

I'm sure 9% of cell users want one, I do to.

Unfortunately many don't have $600 to spend.

ha cant wait to get my hands on one of these. I like messing with phones.SnoopKatt your phone can easily be fixed of your problems with a simple seem edit but since its a cdma and some features might still be blocked you can flash it with an alltel firmware i have the sprint v3m and it had way to many restrictions.

hopefully the iphone is unlocked GSM. but knowing apple it most likely it will be locked to apple mobile MVNO.

im sure the phone will be cracked quickly if theres a big following around it

I've already seen complete theme overhalls for other touchscreen phones that have keyboards and dpad type controls that make them function like iPhone. So not sure what the big deal is for a expensive phone that has less features then already released phones lol.
