I don't get it. How the heck is the DS STILL selling that many? Surely everyone in Japan has one by now :/

That thought has crossed my mind too. But I remember reading an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto and he was asked how many DS Lites his family had. I think the number was like 4. 1 for everyone in the household.

So it would appear that entire families are getting DS Lites and it makes good family time with the multiplayer.

Actually the population of japan is larger than 50 million(which is the amount of ds's sold).

So its not quite surprising, except for the fact that every gamer in japan by now has one ds.

It will be interesting to see if the PS3's sales spike up in the next few weeks with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Folksoul and most of all, Minna no Golufu 5. I read that MnG5 has over 300,000 pre orders. I guess it is going to suppass Gundum Musou by a fair margin as the biggest selling PS3 game so far.

I don't know if NGS is going to sell that many copies in Japan (I know I will certainly be buying it, I love the XBOX version) but I am more interested to see how an original game like Folksoul does. It recieved good reviews in Famitsu and I quite liked the demo even if the story was some what typical and unoriginal.

The PS3 is doing appallingly bad...

i think this is due to it haveing no innovation (which the japanese really like) its pretty much like a beefed up ps2 while the wii and ds are somewhat different
