This post is... Well odd. I mean how more legit can one get with a Sony made PS1 emulator? It works at full speed, works with a lot of PS1 games and didn't take 6 months to get one game running at 2 FPS...

And Map This supporting Tom Tom? Thats just redundant. Since, at least from my observations, all Tom Toms are GPS navigational devices and not just a GPS receiver.

In regards to PS1 emulation I completely agree. I would much prefer to use OE firmware with POPS and inherit POPS improvements with future OE custom firmware releases. The time & effort spent on a PS1 emulator from scratch with dynarec and other bells & whistles could be better spent on something that the homebrew scene does not already have.

But we must also look at it more objectively from perhaps a coders point of view. For a lot of coders, its more about the challenge and accomplishment. So if a coder(s) decide to code a PS1 emulator because they feel that is a more comfortable project to undertake based on their background and expertise, who are we to tell them that we don't need it because SONY already gave us POPS?

Take me for example. I like web design. And if I wanted to make a fan or tribute site it would likely be related to PSP homebrew. Sure there are already many sites dedicated to PSP homebrew but it is an area in which I have a lot of experience and passion for. So we shouldn't discourage coders and potential homebrew contributors before their ideas get off the ground.

Just my 2 cents. Battle weary Veskgar goes to sleep now...

I'm surprised none of these hopeful homebrews target the camera but do target GPS... currently one can't even use the PSP as a PC webcam, though I for one think it should be possible.

A Sega Saturn emulator! Would love that to happen =|

Besides, Ps1 emulation is already possible with OE firmwares :S
