There are plenty of HD DVDs to choose from this week including uber brand new releases Black Snake Moan and Dead Silence. But what's most exciting (on the technology front) is that the anime compilation Freedom: 1 will be the first US release of a twin format HD DVD. Not to be confused with dual-sided HD DVDs, a twin format disc includes the HD DVD and DVD video on the same side encoded on three different layers. Nifty isn't it?
