    Unhappy Recovery failed - HELP

    Hi
    I had a 1.5 PSP which I upgraded to run 3.40OE-A.

I went back to 1.5 but it failed 1/2 way through, and now :-

When I turn on from cold the orange psp memory light (left hand side) flashes for a bit - the disc spins for a bit but nothing happens on the screen. It then all goes quiet and nothing happens - need to remove battery to turn off.

I've tried formatting a new memory stick and downloading downgrade files etc but all to no avail.

Getting concerned now and would really appreciate any good ideas as I searched all the threads !

Try holding R in the cold boot, see if the Recovery Menu appears.

    this is what you do

1-if you have the update 3.40OE
2-take the folder that it is not named with "%"
    3-Rewrite it as "RECOVERY"
4- on the psp press the right button and hold it when your turning your psp on.
5- on the menu, go to toggle usb
6- put the RECOVERY folder in the GAME folder
7- once done, take out the usb cable from the psp and make sure the battery is fully recharged
8-on the menu, go to run program at/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT
    9- READ CAREFULLY AND ACCEPT
10- once done, the psp will start working again

hope this instructions work for you

Sorry, but you have a brick. The first thing the 1.5 recovery app does is format the firmware, removing all traces of recovery. If the firmware flashing fails, the PSP is bricked.

Same thing happened to me to.
If you have an extended warranty, take it back. Just say it doesn't work or something stupid.
