Default New software promises to make conversion of DVDs and movie files into PSP format a br

Movies on PSP is a piece of software planned for launch in the UK on August 12 that it's said makes conversion of DVDs and movie files for playback on Sony's PSP a cinch. A potential slice of good news for you average punter hot for handheld movie action there then, although it's a little ironic that the software is to be made available before PSP officially launches on these shores.
Word is that company Interactive Ideas is to market and distribute Movies on PSP "to the retail and online channel", with the software originating from BHV under the X-OOM brand (X-OOM is a division of BHV software, an international software distributor).

Anyway, the promise is that DVDs and movie files (including DivX., AVI, WMV, MPEG) converted using Movies on PSP will feature "perfect picture and audio quality". The further press blurb says, "Simply choose the movie, press start and, in a matter of minutes, users find their movie ready to go - on their Sony PSP!... The compressed movie files easily fit on users memory sticks."
Other features of Movies on PSP include:

Over 10 input formats (DVD, (S)VCD, DivX, AVI, WMV, Real, MPEG, Quicktime).
More than 10 Presets to make conversion easy
Fit-to-stickTM technology resizes movie files to your memory stick size (256MB, 512MB, ...)
And apparently there's much more. The software will retail at £24.99.

I'm kinda curious why it's coming out in the uk before it hits the us. I know you guys got the bad end of the stick when it came to release dates for the system but the psp hasn't even been released there and yet the software comes to you first? Oh well I guess like a lot of other things involving my psp waiting will bring good things.

I hope we can get it here in the US, I have been converting video files into PSP format. It's not that hard but it would be great if it can be even easier.
I recently converted the Star Wars Troops (cops like home made movie with Stormtroopers) into PSP format. It’s really cool to see that video on my PSP.
